Muscle Minute #26: Consistency Always Beats Talent
“Others might be more talented, but I’ll beat them with consistent work.”
I wasn’t the most talented kid when it came to sports. I wasn’t the flashy scorer—more of the gritty guy who would dive for everything and play tough defense.
It felt like I was putting in a lot of work for small results. The same thing happened in the gym. At first, progress was slow, but there was something different about it—I knew if I kept showing up, I’d get better.
I met a guy at the gym back home who had to be in his 50s or 60s. He looked incredible, and I had to ask him his secret. He said, “I started and I never stopped. No long breaks, no months off. I just train and never miss.”
That stuck with me. I’m the same way—consistent work always wins in the end.
