She didn't find abs. She found herself.
Shanalay didn't start the 2026 #IWANTABZ Challenge because she felt strong.
She started because she felt lost.
“I could barely do one push-up. I had never lifted weights in my life.”
Like so many moms, Shanalay had spent years pouring herself into everyone else.
Her kids, family, work, responsibilites.
Day after day, she gave her time, energy, and attention to the people she loved. And somewhere along the way, she stopped giving any of it to herself.
“Somewhere in the chaos of motherhood, I had slowly disappeared.”
She wasn't just physically exhausted, she felt disconnected.
Like she had been pushed to the bottom of her own priority list.
“I stopped recognizing who I was.”
That's why she signed up for #IWANTABZ. Not for abs, the number on the scale or a trophy.
She signed up to find herself again.
“When I committed to the challenge, it wasn’t really about abs. It was about finding me again.”
The beginning wasn't easy, the workouts were hard, the self-doubt was loud, and the temptation to quit showed up often.
“The first few days were hard. The first week was harder. I doubted myself constantly.”
But she kept showing up.
Because for the first time in a long time, she made a decision to choose herself.
“I started feeling stronger, more confident, and more present.”
She found herself with more energy for her kids, more patience, and more joy.
Then the physical transformation started showing up too.
The body she had criticized, overlooked and neglected.
“I couldn’t believe it. The same body I had overlooked was capable of so much transformation.”
By the end of the challenge, Shanalay had lost 17 pounds.
But that's not what she's most proud of.
She gained confidence, discipline, strength and an identity.
“This journey gave me more than abs. It gave me confidence and a sense of identity outside of being ‘just mom.’”
Most importantly, she learned something many people spend years trying to understand: Taking care of yourself isn't selfish, it's necessary.
“This wasn’t just a challenge. It was a comeback.”
